The Modern Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Ganassi, Lanao del Sur) is mainly composed of small-older farmers whose produce are easily affected by price fluctuations. The enterprise specialises in planting, harvesting and processing of turmeric-based products. In 2018, the cooperative was awarded as one of the top and most promising cooperatives in the region.
With the assistance of the Department of Trade and Industry, the enterprise has successfully developed four product lines. They are looking at further developing their turmeric-based products through the acquisition of training and scheduled trainings.
Their area of operation covers the entire municipality of Ganassi, including four barangays nearby. The area is known as one of the hotspots for rebel groups, and the cooperative is keen on supporting the livelihood of the farmers, and giving the potential rebel recruits other means to spend their time and resources productively.
