The Newton Agham Programme will provide £3 million from 2016 to develop science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and social welfare of the Philippines. Through an open and competitive process, UK and Philippine institutions can apply for funding to create or further develop existing partnerships, increase research collaboration and increase skills of early career researchers.
The opportunities under the Newton Agham Programme which can be useful to developing TNE partnerships are as follows:
Institutional Links
- A 2-year collaboration to create a hub of expertise (in the Philippines) in priority research areas
- UK and PH universities can develop research or capacity-building collaboration and hone expertise prior to TNE work
Mobility
- Researcher Links, PhD scholarships: send early career researchers and young faculty to UK partner university for international research opportunities
